As I begin my third year with Alice ISD, I remain deeply committed to improving the academic performance of all our students. A key part of our success lies in maintaining strong student and staff attendance, as both have a direct impact on student achievement. We continue to focus on ensuring every student leaves Alice ISD prepared for college, career, and military opportunities.

In addition to our focus on academics, we continue to expand opportunities for students through our unified sports, where general education students compete alongside special education students in basketball and track. These sports are sanctioned by UIL, and last year our teams outdid themselves and advanced to state.

We will continue our self-operated food and nutrition services department, which allows us to better serve our students and staff with more control over quality and offerings.

Although we've made great strides in student performance, our goal is to become an A-rated district. To achieve this, I ask for the community’s ongoing support because it truly takes a village to succeed.

My vision remains clear: prioritize student safety, improve academic outcomes, and maintain fiscal responsibility. We continue to focus on our mottos- "It Starts with Me" and  "I Matter"—emphasizing the importance of each individual in reaching our shared goals.

I firmly believe that teamwork is the key to accomplishing our district’s objectives, and I am passionate about ensuring that every student has the opportunities they need to succeed. I am excited to continue working alongside our community to uphold our traditions of excellence and to move Alice ISD toward even greater achievements.

It Starts with Me—I Matter!

Alice ISD Superintendent Parent Roundtable

The Superintendent Parent Roundtable provides a unique opportunity for parents to engage directly with the Superintendent of Schools. This forum allows parents to share ideas, input, and perspectives that help shape the educational experience across the district.

Selection Process

Each campus will have three parent representatives. Each participating parent is selected by their Campus Principal to represent their school. Selection is based on demonstrated leadership qualities, communication skills, and the ability to represent the views of their school community. Members serve two-year terms and may serve no more than two consecutive terms.

Role of Parent Representatives

  • Engage in Meaningful Discussions: Participate in conversations on key topics such as academics, school climate, extracurricular activities, and student well-being.
  • Provide Constructive Feedback: Offer insights and suggestions on district initiatives and programs to help guide decision-making and improvement efforts.
  • Commit to Active Participation: Attend all scheduled meetings, contribute thoughtfully to discussions, and collaborate with other members.
  • Serve as Campus Representatives: Share diverse perspectives that reflect the broader parent community and the unique needs of each campus.
  • Facilitate Communication: Relay important information and updates from Roundtable meetings back to the school community.
  • Promote Partnership and Collaboration: Foster strong, positive relationships between families, schools, and the district to support student success.

Impact

Advisory Role

  • The Parent Roundtable serves in an advisory capacity to the Superintendent, providing parent voice and perspective on district initiatives, policies, and priorities.
