As we begin the 2026-2027 school year, I cannot help but reflect on the last 3 years. Together we have seen tremendous growth throughout the district.
Students’ academic performance has certainly increased as noted by our STAAR performance results.
In addition, we continue to show improvement in student and teacher attendance, which has a direct correlation to student achievement.
Our goal is to continue to improve in all areas from Curriculum and Instruction, Business and Operations, to Human Resources.
We will need all hands on deck this year as our goal remains steadfast on becoming an “A” rated district. That means your job matters and your job performance matters.
We cannot forget Jim Collins’ starting line in the book from Good to Great – “Good is the enemy of great.” Many times we become complacent with good – we cannot fall into the trap of being satisfied-being average because in Alice, we are not average. We are better than that – we are Great!
Let’s have the best year ever and make 2026-2027 the year we achieve our goal – an “A” rated district in all our jobs!!
It Starts with Me—I Matter!
