Mission Statement

The mission of the Alice Independent School District ... Provide a quality educational experience and comprehensive support system that focuses on rigor, relevance and relationships to promote high levels of success for all students.

VISION All students will have the opportunity to become responsible citizens, develop creative and independent thinking, acquire 21st Century skills, and be FUTURE READY to enter post-secondary careers and/or graduation.

District Goals

Goal 1: STUDENT ACHIEVEMENT: Provide high quality, engaging and rigorous instruction for all students that incorporates technology and promotes student success in college and/or careers.

Goal 2: A SAFE AND NURTURING ENVIRONMENT: Create a positive, safe and secure learning environment for all students and staff.

Goal 3: PARENT, FAMILY, AND COMMUNITY ENGAGEMENT: Build strong family and community partnerships that promote the Alice ISD vision, mission and goals.

Goal 4: OPERATIONAL EFFECTIVENESS AND EFFICIENCY: Ensure that the District makes fiscally sound decisions that support student achievement and maintain a strong financial position.

Goal 5: HUMAN RESOURCES: Build a highly effective workforce through strategic recruitment, professional learning, mentoring and organizational support to retain effective teachers, principals, and other instructional staff.

Alice

Called the Hub City for it's central location, Alice falls within the boundaries of South Texas and the Texas Coastal Bend region. U.S. Route 281 passes just west of the city limits on a bypass. George West is located 41 miles north and Falfurrias is 37 miles south. Texas State Highway 44 passes through the center of town and leads east to Robstown and west to Freer. State Highway 359 joins Hiway 44 through the center of town and leads 30 miles northeast to Mathis and 53 miles southwest to Hebbronville. The nearest metropolitan areas are Corpus Christi, 45 miles east and Laredo 98 miles west. The 2018 population estimate was 18,887. 

Alice ISD is currently the third largest district in Region 2. The district serves just over 4300 students, and is home to one high school (9-12), one middle school (6-8), and four elementary campuses (PreK - 5th).
