Alice

Called the Hub City for it's central location, Alice falls within the boundaries of South Texas and the Texas Coastal Bend region. U.S. Route 281 passes just west of the city limits on a bypass. George West is located 41 miles north and Falfurrias is 37 miles south. Texas State Highway 44 passes through the center of town and leads east to Robstown and west to Freer. State Highway 359 joins Hiway 44 through the center of town and leads 30 miles northeast to Mathis and 53 miles southwest to Hebbronville. The nearest metropolitan areas are Corpus Christi, 45 miles east and Laredo 98 miles west. The 2018 population estimate was 18,887. 

Alice ISD is currently the third largest district in Region 2. The district serves just over 4300 students, and is home to one high school (9-12), one middle school (6-8), and four elementary campuses (PreK - 5th).
