Alice High School Jump-Start Learning Academy
For Students in Grades 9–12 Location: Alice High School
Alice High School will offer three types of summer school opportunities for students in grades 9–12:
1. Credit Recovery
Students who are academically at-risk—those who did not maintain an overall average of 70 or above in all core subjects or who must meet attendance appeal requirements—will be required to attend summer school for credit recovery.
2. STAAR Prep
For students at risk of not meeting “Approaches Grade Level” on End-of-Course (EOC) exams. All students must meet the required instructional minutes for each content area.
3. Acceleration
Opportunities are available through the Fast Track Summer Academy.
Important Information
Student Code of Conduct
The AHS Student Code of Conduct remains in effect during Summer School. Misbehavior may result in the loss of Summer School privileges, at the discretion of administration.
Summer School Schedule
For Students (Credit Recovery & STAAR Prep):
- Dates: June 3 – June 16 (Monday–Friday)
- Time: 8:30 a.m. – 1:00 p.m.
Staff Schedules:
- June 2: AHS Staff Workday | 7:45 a.m. – 3:00 p.m. (1-hour lunch)
- **June 3 – June 16:**
- Professional Staff: 8:15 a.m. – 1:15 p.m.
- **Paraprofessionals:** 8:00 a.m. – 1:15 p.m.
- Lunch duty assignments will be determined by the Summer School Principal.

- June 17: English I
- June 18: Algebra I
- June 19: English II
- June 20: Biology / U.S. History
