Executive Director of Leadership and School Improvement
lori orta

Hello!  My name is Lorie Orta.  I am excited to continue serving the students, staff, and community of Alice ISD.  While currently transitioning to the position of Executive Director of Leadership and School Improvement, I am ecstatic at the opportunity to support the endeavors of our campus leadership teams.   Having been with Alice ISD for eight years now, I have served 6 years as a campus principal, one year as Elementary Education Director and am now moving forward to work within a new role with our district.  Student success will continue to remain the focal point of all endeavors.  I remain committed to working alongside our hard working teams at every campus.   Our students deserve the very best that we as an educational team can provide and I am a strong believer in supporting the development of learning.  I look forward to meeting new faces as we work toward our commitment of attaining student achievement at the highest levels possible.  It truly is a privilege to be given the opportunity to work in partnership with all of our Alice Coyote families and campuses.

Effective Schools Framework

The goal of the Effective Schools Framework (ESF) is to provide a clear vision for what districts and schools across the state do to ensure an excellent education for all Texas students. The ESF supports school and district continuous improvement efforts by providing the basis for the ESF diagnostic process and the foundation for the alignment of resources and supports to the needs each school.

At the core of effective schools is effective instruction: interactions between students, teachers, and content determine learning outcomes. This instructional core is strengthened and supported by effective, well-supported teachers, high-quality curriculum, and positive school culture. Strong school leadership and careful planning encompass and ensure each of these prioritized levers.
